Cooling Centers at City's Main Library, Senior Center Offer Refuge from Extreme Heat
For immediate release: July 23, 2018
An excessive heat warning is being issued for much of Southern California beginning at 10 a.m. today through Thursday night. Temperatures are predicted to reach up to 112 degrees in parts of Riverside County, prompting health officials to urge residents to take precautions against the extreme heat.
Moreno Valley residents can take refuge from rising temperatures at cooling centers located at the Moreno Valley Public Library and the Moreno Valley Senior Center.

Residents are urged to take precautions against the extreme heat, including drinking plenty of water, limiting outdoor exercise, avoiding alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, and wearing light colored clothing that provides adequate air circulation. Check on family, neighbors, and friends who are elderly or otherwise more susceptible to the heat. Never leave infants, children, or pets in a parked car, even with the windows open.
