Moreno Valley Celebrates a Record Year

For immediate release: January 10, 2018

2017 will be remembered as a record-breaking year for the City of Moreno Valley.  Fulfilling priorities established by the Mayor and City Council, the City is focusing on creating jobs, attracting new businesses, encouraging development, supporting existing business expansion, and developing workforce readiness for new employment opportunities.  The commitment is already paying dividends; Moreno Valley’s new business licenses increased by 10.2% in 2017 with more than 14,000 new jobs that have been created in Moreno Valley over the last four years.

With strong growth in the commercial, hospitality and industrial sectors in 2017, private development invested more than $400 million in new businesses and construction projects in the City of Moreno Valley.

Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, expressed his dedication to maintaining the City’s strong Economic Development efforts.  “As Mayor and as a former business owner, I am proud of the successes experienced by Moreno Valley businesses and developers,” said Mayor Gutierrez. “I continue to prioritize opportunities for bringing more jobs and private investment to our community.  Working with our corporate citizens and small businesses, we are demonstrating Moreno Valley’s commitment to our businesses success and our job growth.”
