For immediate release: February 13, 2017

The City of Moreno Valley will hold a special election on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 to fill the remaining term of the District 4 seat on the City Council. The vacancy was created when Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, who represented District 4, was elected as the City’s first directly-elected mayor on November 8, 2016.

The winner of the June 6 election will represent District 4 through the remainder of the current council term, which expires in November 2018.

Qualified candidates must be registered to vote, at least 18 years of age, and live within the boundaries of District 4 as constituted in the 2014 election.

Official nomination documents will be available at the City Clerk’s Office at Moreno Valley City Hall, 14177 Frederick Street, Moreno Valley, CA 92552. Interested parties are encouraged to call the Moreno Valley City Clerk’s Office at 951.413.3001 to schedule an appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork to qualify for the June 6 ballot.
