Moreno Valley Announces Development Services System Improvements
City Schedules Short Service Reduction & Two Day Closure

Development activities in the City of Moreno Valley will soon become faster and easier for customers as the City prepares to unveil the new SimpliCITY system. During the transition to the new system, all Development Services operations and service counters will be temporarily unavailable from 7:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2 through 5:30 pm on Monday, December 5, 2016. Full Development Services will resume on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.

All development services will be temporarily unavailable during the brief transition:

  • Planning
  • Fire Prevention
  • Land Development
  • Special Districts • Building and Safety
  • Code and Neighborhood Services
  • All Cashier services including credit card processing will also be unavailable.

City Hall will be open to the public on those dates for all other City business. The SimpliCITY system will automate processes for planning applications, permits, inspections, code compliance, cashiering, and many other aspects of the development and municipal code compliance process. This streamlined system will provide staff with cloud-based (and mobile) access to project and permit information to speed review and approval processes. A subsequent phase of the system will ultimately allow customers to complete many of their requests, inquiries, and transactions online.

The brief scheduled closure is required to convert decades of case data for access in the new system, and rebuild current records to take advantage of new processing technology. The brief closure is the final step in an 18-month project which will infuse industry best practices into Moreno Valley's development processes as Moreno Valley "Moves at the Speed of Business."
