Mayor, Council Members Direct Funding to Support Community Services

Moreno Valley’s Mayor and Council Members recently directed funds from their respective discretionary spending accounts to support a range of services provided to all community residents. 

Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez:

Moreno Valley Animal Shelter.  The “Mayor’s Special” program will make it more affordable for residents to provide dogs with forever homes as part of the upcoming Freedom Days adoption event on July 13-16.

Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Giba:

Voices for Children program in Moreno Valley.  Voices for Children, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of abused and neglected children.

Council Member George Price:

Moreno Valley Master Chorale. The chorale is the "Official Choral Ambassador" for the City of Moreno Valley.

Moreno Valley Morning Optimist Club’s Varsity Jacket Fund, which purchases jackets for student athletes who could not otherwise afford them.

Salvation Army of Moreno Valley Summer Program Camp Fund.

Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services, to offset registration costs for financially challenged youth who enroll in City sponsored programs & classes.

Council Member D. LaDonna Jempson:

Salvation Army of Moreno Valley Summer Camp Program. Children from low-income families enjoy fresh air, exercise and new friendships at annual summer camp programs. Children learn new skills and self-reliance under the guidance of trained counselors.
