City Approves Quality Affordable Housing with Special Focus on Seniors
The Moreno Valley City Council unanimously approved a development agreement to bring more quality affordable housing to the City. Tuesday’s vote will lead to construction of 141 multi-family units at the southeast corner of Alessandro Boulevard and Lasselle Street by Rancho Belago Developers. Two buildings in the multi-phase project will be constructed specifically for seniors.
The Boulder Ridge project will help meet the City’s affordable housing goals while creating a unique multigenerational setting. “Taking care of our community’s senior residents is a top priority for Moreno Valley’s City Council. Adding quality housing options will be very important to assist our growing senior population,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez.
The project will be completed in two phases with Phase 1 comprising four three-story garden-style buildings with a total of 72 units. One of the first four buildings will be specifically dedicated for seniors, with 10 units. The second phase will dedicate an additional 10 units for senior use, for a total of 20 units reserved for Moreno Valley seniors. Elevators will be constructed in the two buildings reserved for seniors.
The Boulder Ridge project will also include an onsite leasing office, community/recreation room, laundry facilities, and garages. Additional features include individual patios/balconies and common open space with recreational amenities including a swimming pool, tot lot, and BBQ areas. Each individual unit will contain energy-efficient appliances (i.e. oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator).
