Community Workshop Set for “Energy Efficiency General Plan Amendment” & “Density Bonus for Energy Efficient Residential Projects”
The City of Moreno Valley Planning Division, with funding support through Southern California Edison, is concluding an effort in exploring opportunity for enhancement to City policies, programs and processes related to energy efficiency. As a result of the effort, recommendations for a new energy efficiency component to the Conservation Element of the General Plan are being considered. In addition, consideration has been given to incentivize energy efficiency in new residential projects. A recommended strategy includes a Municipal Code Amendment to provide for a Multi-Family Residential Density Bonus for those projects that demonstrate a greater energy efficient design and performance.
Community participation is an important component in this effort. In this light, the City invites the community to participate and provide your thoughts and input at the Workshop noted below:
