City of Moreno Valley to Host Town Hall Meeting on
Proposed Moreno Valley Utility Projects and Financing Totaling $25.1 Million

The City of Moreno Valley continues its proactive approach to communicate with residents and businesses by hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 to discuss proposed Capital Projects totaling $25.1 million and the financing of these projects.

The projects have been planned for the past two years in the 2014 and 2015 Moreno Valley Utility Distribution System plan. The design and construction of the Kitching Substation and feeders will increase capacity in the South Industrial Area and totals $17.7 million. Projects that will improve reliability throughout the entire Moreno Valley electric system and increase capacity at the Moreno Valley Substation located on Moreno Beach Dr. total $7.5 million. The City is considering a number of options to fund the projects that include cash funding and bond financing alternatives.

At the direction of the City Council, a Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled to provide an additional opportunity for Moreno Valley residents to join the discussion related to the Moreno Valley Utility’s proposal to fund and complete electric system infrastructure projects to increase capacity for new customers to connect to the system in the City’s South Industrial area and to increase system reliability throughout the utility for all Moreno Valley Utility customers.
