Amazon E-commerce Fulfillment Centers to Recruit 1,000
Amazon seeks applicants for 1,000 full-time positions at its fulfillment centers in San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, and Redlands to meet growing customer demands.
Amazon has created thousands of full-time jobs at its fulfillment centers in the Inland Empire since opening its first California facility in San Bernardino in 2012. Fulfillment centers in Redlands and Moreno Valley began shipping customer orders in 2014.
As the newest element of the City’s “Hire MoVal” program, the Moreno Valley Amazon facilities will be conducting a massive workforce recruitment effort in June and July to provide job opportunities to Moreno Valley residents.
City staff teamed with Riverside County Workforce Development to meet with Amazon representatives and offer the City’s full assistance, sharing its communication networks to assist with advertising employment opportunities.
Moreno Valley Mayor Jesse Molina welcomed the recruitment announcement. “This is terrific news. Anytime a business says that it is hiring this many people it is a big deal; and when it’s coupled with community investment means all that much more. Since Amazon opened its fulfillment center here in Moreno Valley last summer, their presence has been very beneficial to our community. The City is very proud to have Amazon and we are grateful that the company is committing to hire from the region’s workforce.”
Amazon will fill all of these positions over the next several weeks. Full-time employees at Amazon receive competitive hourly wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, 401(k) and company stock awards. Amazon also offers regular full-time employees innovative programs such as Career Choice, where the company will pre-pay up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon. Since the program’s launch, employees are pursuing degrees in game design and visual communications, nursing, IT programming and radiology.
Applicants must apply online at www.workatamazonfulfillment.com. For more information about development or establishing a new business in Moreno Valley, contact the Economic Development Department at 951.413.3460
