Team MoVal to Compete in
Mayor’s Cup Soccer Challenge

Team MoVal Soccer LogoThe City of Moreno Valley is competing in the first annual Mayor’s Cup Soccer Challenge.  The co-ed tournament will be hosted by the City of Riverside this weekend, Saturday, May 2nd at Ramona High School, 7675 Magnolia Ave., Riverside.  Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. with Team MoVal playing its first game at 10:30 a.m.  The double elimination tournament will run throughout the day until the champion city is crowned. Competing cities include Riverside, Victorville, Perris, and Colton.  

In addition to the exciting tournament style soccer games, the Innovation Soccer Freestylers will perform demonstrations showing off their fancy footwork. The LA Galaxy street team will also be there to give away tickets, raffle prizes, and memorabilia. Food and beverages will be provided by multiple food vendors on site.  

Team MoVal members participated in an open skills assessment and were selected by City staff and a team of coaches with a combined 80 years of experience. Our athletes have been practicing up to 3 nights a week and are determined to fight for the win and represent the City of Moreno Valley to the best of their abilities.     

The tournament is free for all spectators.  Show your community pride and come out to support Team MoVal!
