Soccer Players Invited to Join Team MoVal
in “The Mayor’s Cup” Soccer Challenge
The City of Moreno Valley is looking for residents to represent the City in the first Mayor’s Cup Soccer Challenge. Hosted by the City of Riverside, the tournament will match teams from numerous cities in San Bernardino and Riverside counties as they compete to see who has the best team in the Inland Empire.
Moreno Valley’s team will consist of both men and women competing in a double elimination soccer tournament on May 2, 2015. We encourage interested players and coaches to apply for a spot on the ultimate Team MoVal!
Coaching applications must be submitted by March 1st and player applications must be submitted on or before March 12th. A tryout and skills assessment will be held on March 14th. There is no cost for residents to participate in the tryout or the tournament. Interested coaches and players must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Participants must be current Moreno Valley residents
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older
- Participants cannot be active college players
- Participants cannot be active professional players
Applications can be found online at www.moval.org or at the Conference & Recreation Center located at 14075 Frederick Street. Proof of residency must be submitted with applications.
