Outstanding ISO Rating for Moreno Valley's Building Safety Division
Moreno Valley, CA - The Insurance Services Office (ISO) recently completed its survey for building code effectiveness. The results of the survey were released on December 15 and recognized the City of Moreno Valley’s Building Safety Division with an outstanding score.
Moreno Valley’s Building Safety Division was one of many similar government agencies that completed the survey, which determines overall code effectiveness in two areas;
- First, which codes are adopted by the City, and
- Second, how well the Division applies these codes.
The results of the survey are computed into a numerical score representing an agency’s overall code effectiveness. The scale used is 1 to 10 with 1 being best. Moreno Valley’s most recent score from 2005 was a four. However, due to adoption of ‘state-of-the-art’ codes, having a well-trained and certified staff, and providing proficient and thorough code reviews, the City of Moreno Valley has significantly improved to an outstanding score of 2.
