Moreno Valley Celebrates the Big 3-0

December 3, 2014 marks Moreno Valley's 30th year of incorporation. A small celebration to commemorate the anniversary and celebrate community is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m. at the Conference & Recreation center located at 14075 Frederick St. Commemorative coins will be available for attendees and, of course, anniversary cake! Canyon Springs High School, Moreno Valley College, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the City's Time for Tots participants will provide entertainment and participate in the celebration. The event will conclude with the lighting of the 'M' thanks to the efforts of the "M" Landmark Improvement Project community group, which launches the holiday season in Moreno Valley.

While the 2014 State of the City event hosted by the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce in August highlighted the City's progress over the past 30 years, the celebration next month will recognize the contributions made by community service organizations. Not for profit organizations with a passion for service ranging from youth development to business development or from feeding the poor to lending a helping hand to deserving students, among many other good works, will be recognized for their roles as thread in the fabric of community life in Moreno Valley.

The City will recognize non-profit, community service organizations based in Moreno Valley that have been serving the community for more than 10 years. The City is encouraging non-profit groups that meet the parameters to contact the City Manager's Office at shannap@moval.org for more information.
