"Mega" Pet Adoption Event

Moreno Valley, CA- Beginning Friday, August 22nd the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will be hosting a special pet adoption event at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter through Sunday, August 31st as part of the summer long 2014 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The Shelter is located at 14041 Elsworth Street, one block south of Alessandro Blvd. The special event will run all day with the purpose of helping homeless companion animals find life-long loving homes. This special week-long pet adoption event is the City’s final push to increase the number of animals adopted during the 2014 ASPCA $100K Challenge.
Special discounted adoption rates apply during this week-long event. Dogs and puppies will be available for $50, while cats and kittens will be available for $25.
“Five Dollar Fridays” are back. Friday, August 22nd and August 29th, cats and kittens will be available for only $5. These special adoption prices include spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, along with a HomeAgain microchip.
The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter was selected to join 49 other Animal Shelters nationwide to participate in the 2014 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge competing for significant prize allocations by saving more pets lives in 2014 from June 1st through August 31st. Challenge winners will have an opportunity to earn $600,000 in prize grants, including a $100,000 grand prize for the shelter that increases the most saved lives. Grant funds awarded to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will be used to further promote pet adoptions and provide additional Spay and Neuter services in the community.
Pets adopted during this special week-long event that have not already been altered will stay for surgery and be available to go home on the afternoon of the day surgery is scheduled.
