Moreno Valley Police Department Invites Residents
to National Night Out 2014
Residents throughout the City of Moreno Valley are invited to join in with thousands of communities nationwide for the 31st Annual National Night Out (NNO) on August 5th. The Chief of Police, other City leaders and Moreno Valley Police Department Officers will be visiting the three NNO locations coordinated by official Neighborhood Watch neighborhoods. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The following event locations are open to the public:
- Neighborhood site, 24707 Conley Ct.
- Honey Hollow Elementary School, 11765 Honey Hollow
- Il Sorrento Senior Gated Community, 23820 Ironwood Ave.
NNO is designed to generate support for anti-crime programs such as Neighborhood Watch and heighten gang and drug prevention awareness. It also serves to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and won’t tolerate their presence. “Crime prevention is a community effort and getting to know your neighbors is a great place to start” said Moreno Valley Police Chief Joel Ontiveros.
The event, sponsored locally by the Moreno Valley Police Department and nationwide by the National Association of Town Watch, will involve more than 16,000 communities from all 50 states.
