Moreno Valley Celebrates July 4th

The City of Moreno Valley is hosting the annual 2014 July 4th celebration. The Independence Day celebration will kick-off with the much anticipated parade from 9:30 a.m. to noon, then launches into full celebration mode as the gates for the Family FunFest open at 1:00 p.m.

The parade route begins at Alessandro Boulevard and Frederick Street heading north on Frederick Street, then west on TownGate Boulevard, ending at the TownGate Plaza at approximately 12:00 noon. The parade theme this year is "Saluting Our Patriots of Liberty.”

The festivities continue at Morrison Park and Mountain View Middle School located at the northeast corner of Dracaea Avenue and Morrison Street. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. with the festival beginning at 2:00 p.m. Highlights of the evening include a main stage and a community stage, both of which promise to provide great entertainment for the entire family. Several entertainers will perform on the main stage this year.

At 3:00 p.m., the excitement begins with a performance from the Pacific Crest Marching Band. Then at 4:00 p.m., the following bands rock the stage:

  • Fortunate Son - A Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival
  • The Long Run – Eagles Experience
  • DSB – A Tribute to Journey

At 9:00 p.m. residents will enjoy the grand finale fireworks extravaganza, which is a long-time favorite in Moreno Valley. The fireworks show will be simulcast with patriotic music by KOLA 99.9 FM. This promises to be the best July 4th show ever!

Presale tickets for the event are available at the Moreno Valley Conference & Recreation Center through July 3. Cost is $2 per person, or $10 for a family up to 6 people. On July 4, entry is free between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. After 4:00 p.m., entry fee is $3 per person. Military service members with valid identification and children under 5 are free.
