Urgent Notice:
EMWD Asking Customers to Immediately
Stop Outdoor Watering

Eastern Municipal Water District is asking Moreno Valley and Perris customers to stop all outdoor watering and non-essential indoor water use immediately! Water deliveries from Metropolitan Water District’s Henry J. Mills Treatment plant will be halted this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. to allow emergency repairs to a large-diameter, state-operated pipeline through Sunday evening. Details about the notice issued by EMWD can be found at: http://emwd.org/services/drinking-water-service/water-supply/water-supply-emergency-notice

Immediate water-saving actions by residents and businesses are essential to ensure that stored local supplies are sufficient. Conservation steps that are being requested include NO:

  • Hand-washing vehicles
  • Filling swimming pools or spas
  • Hosing down driveways and sidewalks.

Other water-saving measures include running only full loads in washing machines and dishwashers, not leaving the tap running when washing dishes, keeping showers to a maximum of 5 minutes, and not leaving the water running while brushing your teeth or shaving.

EMWD has asked that large landscape customers in the affected areas as well as Sunnymead Ranch, including parks and schools, cease watering during the shutdown. Residents and businesses can visit EMWD's Use Water Wisely pages for conservation tips and water-saving rebate information. Other resources include www.mvdh2o.com and www.bewaterwise.com.
