CDBG Public Needs Assessment Meetings Scheduled

The City of Moreno Valley anticipates receiving an estimated $1,915,206* in Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and an estimated $493,259* in HOME Investment Partnership Grant funding for the 2014/2015 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015).  CDBG funds must be used for programs and projects that benefit low- and moderate-income residents, eliminate slums and blight, or address emergency community needs (such as a large scale natural disaster). HOME funds must be used to address affordable housing needs.  Examples of eligible projects include neighborhood public improvements (such as sidewalks), housing rehabilitation, and public social services. Eligible projects may be completed by government and certified non-profit organizations.

The City will be hosting two community meetings to receive input from the public and to identify the greatest current needs of our community. Input received at the meetings will assist the City in determining priority community needs and in selecting projects and programs that support those needs.
