The Moreno Valley Arts Commission will host its 6th annual Artober Fest on Saturday, October 26.  A free, fun-filled way to celebrate the arts with family and friends, Artober Fest features the work of local artists who display photography, painting, sculpture, musical performances, poetry, and much more. 

Live Performances
The event will showcase more than 400 performers at three unique staging areas.  Artober Fest will open at 10:00 a.m. with an R.O.T.C. Color Guard presentation, followed by the Prime Time Singers from North Ridge Elementary School singing several favorite patriotic songs. Performances will include several folkloric dance groups, poets, singers, and a one-act play presented by the Gold Leaf Theatre group. In addition, several bands will be featured on the West Patio including "The Hibernatives," "Infusoria," the "Habitat Band," and the "Sueda Band" from San Diego. 

Arts & Crafts Displays
More than 35 artists and crafters will set up booths to display their artwork. Numerous types of art will be represented, including photography, pottery making, jewelry, oil and water color artists, sculptors, etc.

Food & Fun
Not only will entertainment and beautiful artwork be on display, but food trucks, restaurants, and a beer garden will be on site with food and beer available for purchase. 

Making this an event for everyone, this year we will have several activities for children, including a petting zoo, a pet adoption event, Project Rudolph craft activities honoring our servicemen and women, bubble blowing, face painting, chalk drawings, and Movie in the Park showing “Hotel Transylvania.” 

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. A silent auction will be available to provide financial support of the Moreno Valley Arts Commission.  The Arts Commission exists to enhance the quality of life for everyone in Moreno Valley by promoting the benefits of arts in our lives.  All silent auction items were donated by local businesses.

Arts Commissioner Rick Archer, who is organizing the artists for Artober Fest, is very excited about this year’s festival. “We’re expanding our event this year by opening the Ballroom’s east side patio at the Conference & Recreation Center. This will give artists the choice of whether to put up their booths inside or outside and will allow us to accommodate many more artists than we have been able to in the past,” explained Rick. “There’s still room for a few more artists and crafters. All they need to do is go to the City website at: www.moval.org and click on the information about Artober Fest. All the forms and applications are there,” he added.
