Volunteer Opportunities Available with Moreno Valley Animal Shelter

Volunteers play a key role in the success of the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. A number of important opportunities are currently available for members of the community to assist Animal Services staff care for shelter animals and promote pet adoptions.

Volunteer applications are accepted year round from Moreno Valley residents wishing to provide their valuable time and service in helping lost or unwanted pets. Volunteer opportunities include the following:

  • Lost and Found Services
  • Micro-chipping • Pet Caretaker
  • Photography
  • Grooming
  • Pet Adoption Events

The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is holding monthly volunteer orientations on the first Wednesday of each month during 2013. The next volunteer orientation is scheduled as follows:

Volunteer applications are available on-line at www.moval.org under the Animal Shelter webpage. Applications will be accepted in person at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter and during the next volunteer orientation.

During Fiscal Year 2011-12 Animal Shelter volunteers donated over 1,900 hours of time providing valuable support for pets in need. Animal Services staff wishes to thank all of our volunteers for their commitment in providing their services to enhance the lives of lost and unwanted pets and provide these pets with a second chance of finding a lifelong loving home.
