Public Environmental Notification for a Warehouse Project

Commuter Alert East Junction Project Update Riverside/Moreno Valley – Caltrans and Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) continue construction on the new $38.5 million interchange at SR-60/ I-215. The project will add carpool lanes, realign the exit ramp at northbound I-215 and Box Springs Road / Fair Aisle Drive, and realign and widen Box Springs Road to four lanes.

On Saturday December 1, crews began striping in preparation for the lane switch that will occur beginning on the evening of December 6 at 9:00 p.m. At that time, the westbound lanes of State Route 60 will be moved to the median lane accommodate the construction of the new HOV lanes. This work will continue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on both Thursday, December 6 - Friday, December 7 and again on Friday, December 7 – Saturday, December 8. This traffic switch will continue through the winter of 2013.

At this same time, the Box Springs off-ramp will be closed to the westbound State Route 60 motorists. A detour is available at Day Street, prior to the Box Springs off-ramp. Exit Day Street, turn right onto Day Street, then left onto Box Springs Road. Northbound I-215 motorists will now be able to exit at Box Springs once the traffic switch has been completed,

Caltrans and RCTC thank you for your patience during the construction of this project.
