SR-60/Moreno Beach Drive Interchange Improvements

mapThe construction of the State Route 60/Moreno Beach Drive Phase 1 project will build new SR-60/Moreno Beach eastbound off- and on-ramps in a “diamond” configuration, and complete the connection of Eucalyptus Avenue to Moreno Beach Drive.

The project will be constructed in 3-stages as follows:

Stage 1:

  • New waterline south of the freeway,
  • Street improvements on the east side of Moreno Beach Drive,
  • New eastbound on-ramp behind the Auto Mall,
  • New retaining wall, and
  • A portion of the eastbound “merge” lane on SR-60. Approx. duration: 4 months

Stage 2:

  • Moreno Beach Drive improvements on the west side,
  • A portion of the eastbound “merge” lane on SR-60, and
  • Construction of realigned eastbound off-ramp during a 55-hour weekend ramp closure. Approx. duration: 3 months

Stage 3:

  • Eucalyptus Avenue extension to Moreno Beach Drive and
  • Remaining completion items. Approx. duration: 2-3 months

There may be short periods of time when lanes or ramps will be closed. However, access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Construction is expected to be completed by October 2013. Contractor is Powell Constructors Inc., of Fontana.
