December Special Activities for Kids

The Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services Department will host several special holiday activities in December 2012. On Monday, December 3, local children may speak to Santa Claus at Santa Live on Channel MVTV-3 by telephoning him at 951.413.3059 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Santa will listen to the wish lists of callers, while also asking holiday trivia questions and awarding prizes to callers with correct answers.

On Saturday, December 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Santa will make a special visit to the participants of Breakfast with Santa at the Conference & Recreation Center located on 14075 Frederick St. For a residential fee of $6 ($8 for non-residents), children 2 to 12 years of age will enjoy a morning of games, crafts, and a special breakfast prepared especially for them.

The Junior Chef’s Holiday Workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 11, at the TownGate Community Center located at 13100 Arbor Park Lane from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Children 4 to 12 years of age will learn to make fantastic holiday treats. Recipes and taste tests of treats made during the evening will be available for children to take home. There is an $8 residential fee, $10 for non-residents, for the workshop.

The creative Holiday Craft Session will be held on Thursday, December 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the TownGate Community Center. For a residential fee of $8, $10 for non-residents, children 4 to 12 years of age will make several special crafts to give friends and family as gifts.

The final seasonal activity provided by the Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services Department is the Holiday Festival and Toy Giveaway. On Saturday, December 15, local children of all ages may visit with Santa Claus to receive a free gift (while supplies last) at the Conference & Recreation Center from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This complimentary family-oriented event hosted in conjunction with the non-profit organization Brothers and Sisters of Hope will also feature face painting, games, activities, and raffles.

Pre-registration is recommended for activities: Breakfast with Santa, Junior Chef’s Workshop, and the Holiday Craft Session. A family discount does apply for multiple children registered for each holiday activity.
