Used Oil Filter Exchange & Recycling Event

On November 17th, 2012, the City’s Solid Waste & Recycling Program will host a Used Oil Filter Exchange & Recycling Event at the O’Reilly Auto Parts store located at 24021 Alessandro Boulevard from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. In exchange for a used oil filter, Moreno Valley residents will receive a new, free oil filter at the event. There will be a limit of two filters per person. Identification documentation or a utility bill will be used for to verify Moreno Valley residency. KOLA 99.9 will provide commercials prior to the event to promote the event to participants.

This event is taking place to bring awareness to America Recycles Day (November 15th). America Recycles Day is a nationwide initiative by Keep America Beautiful. Since 1997, communities across the country have come together to celebrate America Recycles Day. America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling in the United States. This day is used to educate and motivate the community. Every year, on or around America Recycles Day, millions turn out to thousands of local events held throughout the country to celebrate and learn more about their recycling programs. Moreno Valley’s Used Oil Filter Exchange & Recycling event is registered on http://americarecyclesday.org/. The City’s aim is to raise community awareness and promote the significance of recycling hazardous waste through this outreach effort. This event was funded through grant funds received from the California State Department of Resources, Recovery, and Recycling.
