Attempted Kidnappings
On October 31, 2012, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to reports of two separate attempted kidnappings.
Officers met two female high school students who stated they were approached by a male adult. The subject asked each female student to get in his van and spend time with him. Both students refused and asked the subject to leave her alone. In both attempts, the male exited his vehicle and walked toward the female student while continually attempting to entice her to go with him. In one incident, the man grabbed the female student by the arm. Both students told the subject she would call the police and then pulled away from the subject and fled the area.
The suspect was described as a heavy-set African-American male about 40 years old, unshaven, short dark hair, wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans, and driving a white minivan.
The Moreno Valley Police Department is asking anyone with information on these incidents to contact the Detective Bureau at 951-486-6700.
