Shop MoVal Expansion
More Savings, More Fun

Moreno Valley’s Shop MoVal program is expanding! The new components are interactive and infuse fun for both businesses and residents in Moreno Valley. The new program also has the full endorsement of all three Chambers of Commerce. The new components, highlighted in a video on the City’s YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/vtTc6h_icrA, include:

MoVal Deals
Businesses and consumers can now go to www.MoValDeals.org to take advantage of the City’s free online group coupon program. Consumers enjoy discounts at participating businesses and businesses enhance their marketing efforts and attract customers at no cost.

Businesses can sign up to participate at two levels, with discounts totally driven by the businesses:

  • “Daily Deals” – Businesses offer discounts of any value for any length of time.
  • “Big Deal” – Businesses offer discounts valued at a 50% savings (or better) for a limited time or in a limited quantity.

The www.MoValDeals.org website identifies all participating Moreno Valley businesses and their discount offers. Consumers display their downloaded MoVal Deals consumer card (printed copies and smartphone images are accepted) to redeem a “Daily Deal.” The card is available for download. Shoppers who sign-up to take advantage of a “Big Deal” obtain a coupon for the deal - no payment is required through the website.

MoVal Rewards
MoVal Rewards is a fun way to learn about what Moreno Valley has to offer and why shopping local is important. This resident rewards program includes incentives to shopping locally:

  • Citywide scavenger hunts
  • Cash prize drawings
  • Other rewards can be sponsored by Moreno Valley businesses.

The Scavenger Hunts will occur in Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. Participants will “hunt” throughout the city to learn more about Moreno Valley and the variety of businesses that provide the products and services they need. There will be as many as 30 locations to “hunt.” However, only 10 will be required for participation in the $100 cash prize drawing. Participants who provide the required proof of completion can enter into the drawing. There will be 10 winners each scavenger hunt period. For information and Scavenger Hunt lists, visit MoVal Rewards section of the Shop MoVal website: http://www.moval.org/shopmoval/.

Chomp MoVal
Similar to Man Vs. Food and hosted by City Manager Henry Garcia, this episode-format television show introduces viewers to Moreno Valley’s finest local restaurants. Each episode will have its own creative content based on the restaurant’s offerings and will feature guest “stunt-eaters” to help with food challenges. The first episode will air this fall on MVTV-3’s television channel #3 and will be posted on the MVTV-3 YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/mvtv3morenovalley.

MoVal Games
Still in its conceptual design stage, the MoVal Games idea is to create a fun community event bringing together Moreno Valley businesses and families. This new signature event will involve business-sponsored competitions in various sports disciplines designed just for kids. More information about MoVal Games will be shared soon.

The Shop MoVal campaign additions will be rolled-out in phases over the coming months. Shoppers can subscribe to www.MoValDeals.org to automatically receive notices as new deals and Scavenger Hunts become available. For more information, call 951-413-3460.
