Pet in the Park Adoption Day, Costume Contest, and Weenie Dog Race!

The Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services Department, in conjunction with the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, will host a fall-themed pet adoption day on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Find your new best friend or bring you dog pal from home. This paw-friendly event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moreno Valley Community Park, located at 13380 Frederick Street.

Come and visit with the various local animals currently available for adoption. The new pet addition to your family may be there!

We will also be hosting a Doggie Costume Contest. Pre-registration for the contest will start on September 10th. Contest categories include:

• “Best Look Alike” (dogs dressed like their owner)
• “Best Dressed”
• “Scariest” (no masks please)

Finally, it’s time to get your Dachshunds revved up for our first Weenie Dog Race. Sign up your dog to race to the finish line. Pre-registration for the race will start on September 10th.
