Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

The City of Moreno Valley, in association with the Riverside County Waste Management Department, is holding a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event on Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th, 2012. The event will be conducted at the City Yard located at 15670 Perris Blvd from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm each day.

A significant amount of waste is accepted at these events including, but not limited to: sharps (syringes), used oil, used oil filters, batteries, fluorescent tubes, electronics and paint. Residents are allowed multiple trips, but are limited to 50 pounds or 5 gallons of material per trip.

Common Household Hazardous Waste Collection Items Include:

  • Paints and stains
  • Household cleaners and disinfectants
  • Pool and spa chemicals
  • Batteries
  • Pesticides and poisons
  • Art and hobby chemicals
  • Mercury (thermometers and thermostats)
  • Aerosol spray products
  • Automotive products (motor oil**, antifreeze)
  • Sharps (medical syringes)
  • Thinners and solvents
  • Propane tanks
