Sunshine Social's 2012 Prom

On Wednesday, May 9, 2012, the City's Sunshine Social program will host their annual Prom for developmentally disabled adults. This year's Prom theme is "the 80's." Tickets are available for qualifying individuals who have completed the Sunshine Social registration form. Tickets and registration forms are available on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Senior Community Center located at 25075 Fir Street.

Most program participants never attended their high school proms, so they are excited to dress-up and join their friends for an evening of dancing and light refreshments. In the weeks prior to the Prom, voting will take place among the participants to determine who will be crowned the king, queen, princes, and princesses for the royal court. All winners will be announced that evening at the Prom. It will be a night to remember!

The City's Sunshine Social program is held at the Senior Community Center, located at 25075 Fir Avenue, on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants enjoy weekly scheduled activities including crafts, talent shows, movie nights, organized game nights, fieldtrips, and scavenger hunts. There is a monthly fee of $20.00 and a $2.00 processing fee for this program.
