Vietnam War Memorial comes to
March Field Air Museum

The March Field Air Museum will be hosting a visit of the traveling Vietnam War Memorial, known as "The Wall That Heals," from March 27 through April 1, 2012. The visit commences at a solemn Opening Ceremony on March 27 at 10:00 a.m. The Wall That Heals will be on display on museum grounds twenty-four hours a day for the public to visit and pay tribute. Names of the fallen will be read aloud between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily.

The Wall That Heals is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. that travels throughout the United States, allowing thousands of veterans who have been unable to visit the Washington D.C. Memorial to do so within their own communities.

The replica is complete with the 58,249 names of those killed or missing in action from the war and also features a Traveling Museum and Information Center. The Information Center is equipped with a scanner that allows visitors to upload photos and remembrances of loved ones found on The Wall to the Virtual Wall sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. These photos and stories are gathered for use in the Education Center.

The March Field Air Museum has time slots available for volunteers who would like to read the names of fallen veterans and assist visitors. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the Museum at (951) 902-5949.

The March Field Air Museum is located at 22550 Van Buren Blvd., at the Interstate 215 interchange, in Riverside, CA. Their website address is http://www.marchfield.org/zcal.html.
